About Me
Born in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I grew up in the Oklahoma City area. This, of course, is a land proud to be the showplace for conservative practical no-nonsense living. I obviously was a misfit and quickly learned to keep my mouth shut. To add to my paranoia I was raised in a Southern Baptist church.

My primary interest in life has been spiritual so I should have fit in beautifully at church, but I wanted to know who God really is - not the traditional "Demander of Obedience and Gifter of Blessings." So I set out on a lifelong journey to understand the God I felt close to in private. After exploring many different religions and philosophies I began to realize my life has been a continuous class in developing a closeness to God and that Jesus led His disciples through that same class. So I returned to the church of my youth and today pursue my relationship with Him alongside my church family..

So why doesn't my second greatest interest in life - art - reflect this profound spiritual journey?
I don't know.

After much searching and experimenting I discovered what I really enjoyed creating were images that just make people smile a little bit. I guess that's my way of sharing my beliefs.

There's been an attempt to explain my thought processes with the works you'll find on these pages, but honestly I would recommend just stepping outside of your need to understand and drifting lazily down the stream of consciousness each picture meanders. That's really how I came up with them.

Oh yeah, almost forgot the obligatory professional background:
Experience: Graphic Designer, Video Editor, Illustrator (usually creating things other people wanted)
Training: pretty much self-taught (see the part about Oklahoma).

Currently, I am available to visit schools, libraries, etc. in Oklahoma and share with adults and children the joys of drawing my characters and exploring your own meandering stream. Usually, my fee is $150 plus per diem (outside the Oklahoma City area). I sketch with an overhead camera while we talk about drawing, publishing books, etc. Just contact me by phone or email and we'll work something out that will be fun for all of us.
