So I did this painting about the first night Joseph spent in prison after Potipher’s wife falsely accused him. It’s, of course, a huge setback for him, but he will come to accept it as where God wants him to be. Just as I finished I read that Egyptian prisons were more like converted homes - no chains or medieval-type dungeons. Oh well. I'm still kind of proud of the emotion in his face.
